"Kind of Blue" (1959) is the bestselling jazz LP of all time. The original Columbia 6-eye mono pressing (CL 1355) is the most authentic listening experience - the modal recordings were mixed for mono first. Side B Track 1 "Flamenco Sketches" runs at the famously slightly-off pitch on early pressings due to a tape speed issue corrected on later reissues.
Pricing in 2026: EUR 300-900 for VG+/NM 6-eye originals. Stereo CS 8163 pressings from the same era trade lower.

Mono label has six "eye" logos around the perimeter - early reissues use two eyes or no eyes and are much less valuable.
Mid-period Columbia reissues (Mastersound, half-speed, 180 g audiophile) are sonically excellent and far cheaper - if you want a great-sounding copy without collector premium, those are the move.
