The original Atari 2600 launched in 1977 with six switches on the front and a genuine woodgrain front panel - the "Heavy Sixer" sub-variant (Sunnyvale-made, 1977-78) is heaviest and most collectible. Later "Light Sixers" and four-switch variants are common; Heavy Sixers are rarer.
Pricing in 2026: EUR 150-450 for confirmed Heavy Sixer in working condition.

Confirm Heavy Sixer via the "Sunnyvale, CA" label on the underside and the thicker / heavier case versus a four-switch unit.
The TIA video chip produces NTSC output - PAL TVs need a converter or a modified PAL Atari 2600 (separate model).
