Buying advice

Inspect the taking-lens glass for separation (look for rainbow patterns) and fungus. The viewing-lens condition matters less for image quality but more for focusing.

The CdS meter often needs adjustment for modern 1.5 V cells (it was designed for 1.35 V mercury). A reading offset is normal but should be consistent.
